Coast Kids Create — Paper and Journal Making

When:  April 7-9, 2009 (Tues. - Wed.)
Where: Multi-Agency Facility Conference room at the Big Sur Station 
Time: 12:30-4pm
Cost: $40 for all 3 days

Coast Kids Create is a local expressive arts program beginning over the school break in April. This unique program uses art for learning about and expressing oneself. In this initial session, Coast Kids Create will meet for 3 afternoons during the April school break where we will make our own paper and journals. This particular session is open to whole family, especially for parents with younger kids. Kids 8 and up can come on their own. Teens are welcome, too!

Coast Kids Create is a collaboration between BSAI and CHART (Communities Healing through Art) to bring creative arts activities mediated by professional artists, art therapists and expressive arts facilitators to the youth of Big Sur. To learn more visit us at http://www.chartaid.org/

 

Big Sur Music Camp

When:  April 13-17, 2009 (Mon. - Fri.)                                                                  
Where: Rancho Rico                                                                                                          
Time: TBD, 5 hours daily                                                                                                 
Cost: $600 for the week (scholarships available)

Big Sur Music Camp, sponsored by BSAI, is open to children, youth and adults. There will be five hours of instruction daily studying vocals and different musical genres, as well as student / teacher concerts and jamming late in to the night. Music Camp teachers are professional musicians from all over the US.

Thursday April 16 there will be a concert open to the public featuring camp teachers.
